Do I need insurance for a trailer?

A trailer is essentially a motor vehicle and therefore you should take out Comprehensive Motor insurance to cover it.  This will cover any damage to the trailer itself in the event of an accident, and will also cover third party costs in the event of an at-fault claim.

Business insurance for mechanics?

The most important cover to include on a business insurance policy for mechanics, is Public Liability, to cover third party property damage and personal injury claims. Tools of Trade can also be included along with work vehicles.  A mechanic may also have a business premise and this type of policy is often referred to as Motor Trades insurance.  Buildings and contents cover can be included on a Motor Trades policy and cover can also be extended to customers’ vehicles whilst on the premises. Another common feature of such policies is a motor insurance extension allowing the insured party to drive customers’ vehicles for the purposes of testing or delivery.
